Princeton, NJ 6/26/14

The back of the Firestone Library at Princeton University.  We didn’t have time for the half hour walk around to the front.

This is: 1) where we stayed in Princeton, 2) a chapel on the Princeton University campus, or 3) where Washington crossed the Delaware.

Morven, a home built in the mid-1700s by Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence for New Jersey.  The west wing (on the left) is the only original part of the house.  In the early 20th century it was the governor’s mansion for five New Jersey governors.  The property is still owned by the state, but the house and gardens are maintained by a foundation.

Our GPS laid out the “fastest route” to our next stop in Massachusetts.  It included endless delays caused by traffic…

and more traffic…

and more traffic…

And still more traffic…

And ended here seven hours later.

The GPS has been replaced by someone with a heart.
